Configure Pens

Overview

The Configure Pens window controls a set of different pen styles for a given dataset. The name of the graph and the data set name are displayed on the title bar.

PrestoPlot can associate a set of pens or drawing styles with each dataset.

Window Layout

The window is separated into two halves:

Pens

To add, delete, reorder and rename the pens and name the data set to use as the weights to decide which pen to apply (Only one weight dataset can be used for all of the pens for each dataset).

Attributes

To modify how each one of the pens are drawn: The line segment attributes apply to the two line segments before and after the associated data point.

  • Line Change the line style, color, gradient and width.

N.B. The gradient changes color evenly from the first visible point to the last using the two end colors.

  • Symbol Change the form of the data point symbol and the size, outline and fill colors used to draw each symbol.

N.B. The gradient changes the size of the symbol evenly from the smallest weight value to the largest using the two symbol sizes.

  • Values Change the Minimum and maximum values used to apply this pen. e.g. If the values are 0 and 1 then any data values in the weights data set which lie between 0 and 1 will be drawn using this pen.

N.B. The pens are applied from the first to the last so if they overlap only the last one drawn will be visible.
